Paris is also known for its beautiful cathedrals. One of the most famous is Notre-Dame Cathedral. It is a Gothic-style church that took over 200 years to build. You can visit the cathedral and marvel at its stunning architecture and intricate stained glass windows.

In April 2019 a fire broke out in Notre Dame cathedral. The fire engulfed the spire and most of the roof. The fire began around 6:30pm local Paris time on Monday, April 15 and burned until the next morning Tuesday, April 16. It has mostly been rebuilt and will open late in 2024.
