These links are to help you start the kidcyber Marine Animals WebQuest.
Remember: your chosen animal must be a resident or frequent visitor to Australian waters, and it must be a threatened species.
What does the term threatened species mean?
Animal and plant species that are endangered or close to being classified as endangered are threatened species. Read more about the classifications on the kidcyber page : Threatened Species
Search kidcyber or search engines to help you choose the animal, and then to help you research it.
Keywords
You may search for information online using a search engine by entering keywords. Choose the keywords thoughtfully: some pages or websites may include information about some members of the species that live elsewhere.
For example, a page about seals and penguins will have general information about all of them, as well as information about different species, only a few of which may be found in Australia. Similarly, a page about crocodiles will have general information common to all species, as well as information about species in different countries, and species that live in fresh water, not the sea.
Try to include the name of the species or location in the keywords you insert in the search engine. Sometimes including the words for kids helps give you pages you can understand.
